Join the technology organization supporting a major global financial services institution with a strong presence across banking, risk management, and enterprise technology. This role sits within a technical environment where scalable software, reliable data integrations, and well-designed backend services support critical business functions. The team works cross-functionally and values clean engineering practices, independent problem-solving, and collaboration across technical and business stakeholders.

What’s In Store For You

  • Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
  • Hybrid opportunity based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
  • Work on backend applications, APIs, automation, and data-driven solutions within a large enterprise technology environment.
  • Gain exposure to software development practices spanning application development, database integration, testing, code reviews, and deployment processes.
  • Long-term contract assignment currently scheduled for approximately 12 months.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable server-side applications and services using Python.
  • Build and enhance RESTful APIs that connect applications, databases, and third-party platforms.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into reliable, maintainable software solutions.
  • Develop scripts and automation that improve application functionality and operational efficiency.
  • Integrate relational or other enterprise databases into backend applications and services.
  • Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code following established engineering standards.
  • Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to improve application reliability.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous integration and deployment practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders within an Agile delivery environment.

Requirements

Do You Bring Proven Success in Python Backend Development?

  • 5-7 years of relevant software development experience, with strong hands-on Python expertise.
  • Strong understanding of Python programming concepts, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Demonstrated experience developing server-side applications, services, scripts, or backend components.
  • Hands-on experience designing, consuming, or integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Experience connecting applications to databases and working with data-driven systems.
  • Proficiency with source/version control systems such as Git.
  • Solid understanding of software testing, debugging, and maintainable coding practices.
  • Ability to independently analyze technical problems while collaborating effectively within Agile teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, DevOps tooling, CI/CD, or front-end technologies is beneficial.
