Job description
The AI Product Support Specialist helps maintain the accuracy and logic behind the automated financial and operational tools we deploy for our clients. This role is currently focused on a project where a Belgian logistics firm is centralizing its regional operations and requires rigorous oversight to ensure its internal data systems remain reliable and grounded in economic reality. About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan or an acquisition actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction. The Role In this role, you will work as part of a distributed team to support the deployment and maintenance of AI driven tools used for financial analysis and logistics planning. Working in a fully remote environment, you will be the first line of defense when an automated output does not align with expected financial outcomes. This is an entry level position designed for someone who is technically capable but primarily interested in the logic and data integrity of business systems. You will collaborate closely with senior principals to bridge the gap between technical tool performance and commercial decision making. What You Will Be Doing
- Monitoring AI generated financial reports to identify logic gaps or data discrepancies.
- Testing the assumptions used in automated logistics pricing models to ensure they reflect current market conditions.
- Investigating and documenting why a specific tool produced a particular output when challenged by a client or principal.
- Cleaning and organizing large datasets to ensure that the inputs for our AI tools are accurate and relevant.
- Comparing automated data outputs against manual financial checks to verify model reliability.
- Maintaining clear documentation of system behavior and any adjustments made to logic parameters.
- Assisting in the preparation of client briefs that explain the mechanics behind our analytical tools.
- Collaborating with senior team members to refine the prompts and instructions that guide our internal AI agents., Our firm operates on the belief that the best advice comes from those who are not afraid to be skeptical of the prevailing narrative. We do not hide behind complex models or vague corporate language. Instead, we provide our clients with the cold, hard numbers they need to make informed decisions. As an AI Product Support Specialist, you will be a vital part of this process, ensuring that our technological tools are as disciplined and accurate as our financial advice. We value team members who take ownership of their work and are constantly looking for ways to improve the integrity of the data we provide.
Requirements
- A completed degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- A healthy level of skepticism and a desire to look under the hood of automated systems.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use complex logic functions and data organization tools.
- Basic familiarity with AI principles, such as how large language models or predictive algorithms process information.
- Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity and technical accuracy.
- An organized approach to problem solving and the ability to track multiple technical issues at once.
- The ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying closely coordinated with a senior lead.
- A detail oriented mindset that catches small errors in large datasets before they impact the final analysis.
Benefits & conditions
- Competitive pay that is attractive for an entry level position in the consulting and technology sector.
- A fully remote working arrangement that allows for flexibility and a focus on output rather than office presence.
- Direct access to senior principals, providing a rare chance to learn the business from experienced practitioners.
- Practical experience working on high stakes projects, such as the centralization of a major logistics firm.
- A work culture that values honesty, directness, and financial discipline over corporate theater.
- The opportunity to build a career at the intersection of financial advisory and emerging technology.
