Job description

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting mortgage and banking applications.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, developers, and regulatory reporting teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  • Analyze mortgage and loan data, including origination, servicing, balances, payments, delinquency, collateral, and borrower-related information.
  • Support FR Y-14 / FRY-14 regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring accurate data mapping, transformation, and lineage.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, data definitions, and source-to-target mappings.
  • Identify relationships, dependencies, and data gaps across multiple source systems and downstream reporting platforms.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data models are aligned with ETL/ELT processes and enterprise data architecture.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Support reconciliation and validation of mortgage data used for regulatory reporting and risk management.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, data profiling, source-system analysis, and impact assessments.
  • Ensure data models follow enterprise standards, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Document data lineage and transformation rules for critical FR Y-14 reporting data elements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Data Modeler in the banking, financial services, or mortgage industry.
  • Hands-on experience with FR Y-14 / FRY-14 regulatory reporting.
  • Strong mortgage domain knowledge, including mortgage loans, servicing, origination, collateral, payments, delinquency, and related financial data.
  • Experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in data analysis and validation.
  • Experience with data mapping, data lineage, data dictionaries, and metadata management.
  • Understanding of relational databases and enterprise data warehouse concepts.
  • Experience working with large and complex financial datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with banking regulatory reporting, risk data, or capital reporting.
  • Knowledge of other Federal Reserve regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience with mortgage risk, credit risk, or financial risk data.
  • Familiarity with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar tools.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
