Job description

The Restaurant Technology Manager owns all technology across the three locations. This is a hands-on, generalist role for someone who moves comfortably between strategic thinking and day-to-day problem solving. The person in this position is the single point of accountability for every system that touches the guest experience, the team’s operations, and the organization’s data. That includes the POS environment, network infrastructure, staff-facing tools, vendor relationships, and the growing category of AI-powered tools reshaping how restaurants operate.

This is a full-time, multi-location role. Regular travel between the Santa Fe and Albuquerque locations is a core expectation of the job.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

POS & Point-of-Sale Systems

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the POS system across all three locations, managing menu updates, pricing changes, user accounts, and reporting configurations.
  • Coordinate with FOH managers and the kitchen on POS workflow changes that affect service speed or accuracy.
  • Own the relationship with the POS vendor, including support escalations, contract renewals, and system upgrades.
  • Evaluate and implement POS-adjacent tools, including kitchen display systems (KDS), online ordering integrations, and payment processing.

Network & Infrastructure

  • Maintain reliable network infrastructure at each location, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and guest network separation.
  • Manage all hardware: terminals, tablets, printers, displays, and back-office workstations across three locations.
  • Ensure network uptime and redundancy so that a connectivity issue at one location does not affect operations.
  • Maintain a basic cyber security posture: firewall rules, PCI-DSS compliance for payment data, software patching, and secure password management.

AI Tools & Emerging Technology

  • Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-powered tools across scheduling, labor forecasting, inventory management, and guest communication.
  • Serve as the internal lead for AI integration with the existing POS, including tools from vendors like Aloha, PAR Technology, or Olo that use predictive analytics or agentic automation.
  • Identify where AI tools add genuine value versus where they add complexity and make clear recommendations to leadership based on that assessment.
  • Stay current on AI developments in the restaurant technology space and brief leadership quarterly on relevant opportunities or risks., · Responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s cloud-based infrastructure across four restaurant locations, ensuring all systems operate as a unified, secure, and efficient environment. Administers and supports platforms including Google Workspace and Microsoft OneDrive, overseeing user accounts, data access, file organization, and collaboration tools.

· Maintains network connectivity and cloud integration across multiple sites, ensuring reliable communication between locations and seamless access to shared resources. Supports a wide range of devices and workstations, handling setup, updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

· Implements and enforces IT standards, security protocols, and backup systems to protect business data and ensure operational continuity. Works closely with management and staff to streamline workflows, improve system usability, and keep all locations functioning cohesively as a single operational unit

Surveillance & Security Systems Management

· Oversees and maintains third-party camera and surveillance systems across all four locations, including platforms such as Hikvision and Lorex Technology Cloud. Responsible for system configuration, remote access management, footage storage, and ensuring continuous uptime and recording reliability.

· Performs routine system checks, firmware updates, and troubleshooting to maintain security coverage and compliance with company policies. Coordinates with vendors when necessary and ensures all locations have consistent, secure, and accessible monitoring as part of a unified operational infrastructure.

Vendor & Software Management

  • Own the full vendor map: every software subscription, hardware contract, and technology service the company pays for.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage renewals, and eliminate redundant or underused subscriptions.
  • Ensure all platforms, from scheduling software to loyalty programs to accounting integrations, are properly connected and exchanging data cleanly.

Training & Team Support

  • Train new and existing team members on all technology systems, with a focus on practical use rather than technical depth.
  • Build simple documentation and quick-reference materials that managers and hosts can use without calling for IT support.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technology issues across all three locations, resolving problems quickly and clearly.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Technical documentation?, What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Three or more years managing technology in a multi-unit hospitality, retail, or food service environment. Restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
  • POS Fluency: Hands-on experience administering a modern cloud-based POS system. Familiarity with Toast, Aloha, Brink, or a comparable platform.
  • Networking Basics: Practical ability to configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, Wi-Fi hardware, and VLANs. Not required to be a network engineer but must be comfortable working at that level.
  • AI Literacy: Genuine familiarity with how AI tools are being applied in restaurant operations, including scheduling, demand forecasting, and marketing automation. Must be able to evaluate vendor claims critically.
  • Communication: Able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical managers and owners. Written communication matters in this role; the documentation you create will be used by team members across all three locations.
  • Self-Direction: This is not a heavily supervised role. The right person is organized, proactive, and comfortable setting their own priorities across multiple sites without waiting to be told what needs attention.
  • Mobility: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Regular travel between Santa Fe and Albuquerque is required.

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience with scheduling platforms such as 7shifts, R365, or Fourth.
  • Familiarity with inventory management tools and their integration with POS data.
  • Experience working within a PCI-DSS compliance framework., * managing technology in a multi-unit environment: 3 years (Required)
