Associate Web Developer

As an entry-level developer, you will work directly with our senior consultants to turn financial logic into functional code. The work is mostly internal-facing, focusing on data visualization and calculation engines rather than public-facing marketing websites. Since we are a fully remote firm, you will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule while collaborating closely with the principals on technical requirements. You will learn how to translate complex financial models into user-friendly tools that help our clients make better commercial decisions. What You Will Be Doing

• Building interactive dashboards that help our team visualize complex P&L data for our partners.
• Writing clean, documented code to automate financial modeling tasks currently handled in spreadsheets.
• Maintaining the underlying logic of our proprietary pricing tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborating with our Brussels-based partner to integrate their data feeds into our analysis platforms.
• Debugging technical issues within our internal applications to keep projects moving forward without interruption.
• Testing web interfaces to ensure they handle large datasets and complex calculations efficiently.
• Creating simple, logical user interfaces for consultants who need to input and analyze financial assumptions.
• Participating in regular technical reviews to ensure our tools are consistent and easy to maintain.

• A foundational understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• A degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience from personal coding projects.
• Curiosity about how businesses actually generate cash and a desire to learn about financial discipline.
• Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to the accuracy of numbers and logic.
• The ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate technical ideas clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• Basic experience with a modern framework, such as React or Vue, is helpful but not required for this level.
• A logical approach to solving problems and a willingness to ask questions when requirements are unclear.
• Interest in working within a small, principal-led firm where your work has immediate visibility.

We are looking for an Associate Web Developer to build and maintain the internal tools and data interfaces used by our advisory teams. This role supports a project for our partner, a Brussels-based firm, where we are helping them build a clearer picture of their portfolio economics through custom digital tools. About Blue Oak Consulting Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions.
