FULLREMOTE - AI Automation Engineer

We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer with strong experience in n8n to join an exciting international project within the Mercedes-Benz environment. You will work on the design and implementation of intelligent automation solutions, integrating different systems, APIs and AI/LLM-based services to optimize processes and build scalable workflows. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design, develop and maintain automation workflows using n8n. * Build integrations between different applications, internal systems, databases and third-party services. * Integrate AI and LLM-based solutions into automated workflows and business processes. * Design and consume REST APIs and webhooks to connect different platforms and services. * Develop custom logic and scripts when standard n8n nodes are not sufficient. * Automate complex business and technical processes, ensuring scalability, reliability and

maintainability. * Implement error handling, monitoring, logging and troubleshooting mechanisms for automated workflows. * Collaborate with AI, software engineering and business teams to identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into technical solutions. * Participate in the design and continuous improvement of AI-driven automation architectures. * Document workflows, integrations and technical solutions. REQUIREMENTS: * Proven experience working with n8n in professional or production environments. * Strong knowledge of workflow automation and system integration. * Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, API Keys, etc.). * Programming or scripting experience, ideally with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python. * Experience integrating different platforms, services and data sources. * Knowledge of databases and data handling, preferably SQL. * Understanding of software development best practices, version control and Git. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex integrations. * High level of English, as you will work in an international environment and participate in technical meetings and discussions. NICE TO HAVE: * Experience working on Artificial Intelligence or Generative AI projects. * Experience integrating LLMs and AI APIs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI or similar technologies. * Knowledge of RAG architectures, AI Agents or agentic workflows. * Experience with other automation or orchestration platforms such as Make, Zapier, Power Automate or similar. * Knowledge of cloud environments, especially Azure or AWS. * Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines or containerized environments. * Familiarity with vector databases or AI-related data architectures.
