Job description

You’ll transform complex data into clear, actionable insight that helps us grow a sustainable insurance business while delivering great outcomes for customers and their pets.

Working closely with teams across Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, Commercial, Finance, Marketing and Digital, you’ll uncover trends, identify opportunities and build the dashboards and analysis that inform key business decisions.

Location: Remote working, with some requirement to travel to the Insurance Support Office (location tbc) and Pets at Home Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire) as required. Attendance at other national meetings, as required.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Analysing customer, policy and claims data to uncover meaningful trends and opportunities
  • Creating dashboards and visualisations that track business performance and customer outcomes
  • Delivering data-driven recommendations that improve acquisition, retention, claims performance and profitability
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to solve complex problems using data
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and emerging trends in the insurance market
  • Improving data quality, governance and reporting capabilities
  • Automating reporting and identifying smarter ways of working through analytics

Requirements

You’ll be an experienced analyst who combines strong technical skills with a naturally curious mindset and the confidence to challenge thinking through evidence and insight.

We’re looking for:

  • Experience in data analysis, business intelligence or a related analytical role
  • Insurance industry experience and an understanding of insurance products, claims and customer journeys
  • Strong experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Expertise in Power BI, Tableau or similar visualisation tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to tell compelling stories with data and influence decision-making
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Pet insurance experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

Benefits & conditions

  • Enjoy the backing of the Pets at Home Group while working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • Make a meaningful impact on products, propositions and customer outcomes
  • Work alongside passionate colleagues who care about pets, customers and innovation

If you’re excited by the opportunity to combine data, insight and innovation within a growing pet insurance business, we’d love to hear from you.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

About the company

We’re building something new. Pets at Home is launching an exciting new Pet Insurance business, combining the energy and influence of a start-up with the backing, scale and brand strength of the UK’s leading pet care company.

As an Insurance Data Analyst, you’ll join at the very beginning of our journey, helping shape how data drives decisions across pricing, underwriting, claims, customer experience and commercial performance.

What sets us apart? Access to a unique pet care ecosystem. Working across the wider Pets at Home Group, including our veterinary businesses, you’ll have the opportunity to analyse rich pet health and customer data that most insurers simply don’t have access to, unlocking deeper insight and helping us create a better insurance experience for pet owners.
