Job description

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for the built environment and project support? We’re searching for a dynamic Technical Support Officer who thrives on supporting the intricate details of construction processes while also providing crucial support for project success. If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a role that combines the best of both worlds, join our team and be an essential part of our mission to improve lives and places.

As a Technical Support Officer in our Midlands, London and Southeast region, you will play a key role in delivering added value services to clients and supporting the successful operation of LHCPG frameworks. Working closely with the Senior Technical Support Manager and the wider LHC team, you will provide both project and technical support, helping clients, partners and contractors to achieve successful procurement and project outcomes. From attending project meetings and carrying out site visits to reviewing technical documentation and providing guidance on LHCPG products and services, you’ll act as a trusted point of contact for a range of stakeholders. You’ll also help ensure compliance with framework requirements, support quality assurance activities, and represent LHC across the construction and procurement sectors.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Supporting projects throughout their lifecycle, including attending meetings, monitoring progress and helping to resolve project-related queries
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, Appointed Companies (AppCos), contractors and other key stakeholders
  • Providing technical and procurement support, including the review of tender documentation, validation of contractor pricing and guidance on LHC frameworks and services
  • Undertaking site and factory visits to monitor quality, compliance and adherence to specifications
  • Promoting LHC’s products and services through stakeholder engagement, industry events and marketing activities

Requirements

You’ll have experience within the construction, building or housing sector and a good understanding of building products, services and project delivery. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, is comfortable working independently and can provide practical support and advice to a wide range of stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • At least five years’ experience working in a building, construction or housing environment
  • A vocational qualification in a building, construction or technical discipline
  • A good understanding of construction products, services and technical documentation
  • Experience using databases, CRM systems, or platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with everyone from site teams to senior leaders
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload across multiple projects and locations
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues

You’ll also need a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel throughout the region, including occasional overnight stays.

Benefits & conditions

At LHCPG, the work we do has real impact. We’re a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation that helps improve lives and places across communities in the UK. Some of the benefits you’ll enjoy include:

  • Salary of £39,975 per annum
  • Car allowance of £5,740 per annum
  • Generous employer pension contribution
  • 29 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  • An extra day off for your birthday

  • Private medical cover and health cash plan
  • Up to 10 days working from anywhere each year
  • Enhanced family leave benefits
  • Retail discounts and additional lifestyle benefits
