Data Development Manager

As a Development Manager, you’ll lead a team of developers focused on data integrations, Azure modernization, custom application development, and emerging AI initiatives. You’ll spend most of your time managing delivery, planning team capacity, removing roadblocks, mentoring developers, and partnering with product teams to ensure high-quality solutions are delivered on time. While this is a leadership role, you’ll remain technically involved by participating in architecture discussions, reviewing solutions, and providing guidance on development best practices. You’ll work closely with both local and offshore resources to drive accountability, support team growth, and establish scalable engineering processes. Bealls is building an AI-first development culture and is looking for leaders who actively leverage AI tools while helping teams adopt modern development practices that improve productivity and delivery outcomes.

• 8+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience as a Development Manager, Tech Lead, Agile Lead, Pod Lead, or similar role
• Experience leading developers, contractors, and offshore teams
• Experience with capacity planning, resource allocation, delivery management, and project scoping
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers, including performance management and career growth discussions
• Strong Microsoft/Azure development experience, including:
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Logic Apps
• Azure Functions
• SSIS
• SQL
• C#
• Ability to remain hands-on through architecture reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical guidance
• AI-forward mindset with a passion for exploring and leveraging AI tools to improve development efficiency, team productivity, and business outcomes (Copilot, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Retail experience (off-price retail preferred)
• Related Bachelor Degree
• Supply chain, merchandising, or enterprise retail systems experience
• Oracle Retail or Oracle Fusion experience
• CI/CD and DevOps experience
• Experience implementing AI-assisted development practices across teams
• Local to Bradenton, FL or willing to relocate
• Experience leading development teams within large enterprise environments
