Job description

  • Know and follow all school board policies.
  • Install computer hardware, peripherals and related application software for the purpose of maintaining safe and effective district and site operations including classrooms, media centers and computer labs.
  • Develop user job aids and an on-line library of supplemental instructions for the purpose of enhancing staff ability to utilize computer software applications.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of district personnel for the purpose of providing support, technical advice and operational assistance.
  • Develop user jobs aids and an on-line library of supplemental instructions for the purpose of enhancing staff ability to utilize computer software applications.
  • Troubleshoot user issues with computer workstations (e.g. questions about application software, connectivity issues, peripheral malfunctions, etc.) for the purpose of providing immediate assistance to users for problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with teachers in composing effective technology-infused, content-based lessons and support teachers as they implement lessons in their classrooms.
  • Provide assistance and training to building instructional staff in the integration of technology to support student achievement, including planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small and large groups. Collaborate in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technology materials and software.
  • Work with curriculum staff to develop and implement technology enhances curriculum integration projects.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States and pass a criminal history background check
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years experience in computer and network maintenance
  • Ability to repair both Macintosh and Windows based personal computers
  • Knowledge of and experience in installing and maintaining networks (both LANs and Wans)
  • Ability to interpret policies and job related functions
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and manage multiple tasks
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with public and other employees
  • Ability of performing physical duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and tolerating extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and/or viewing computer screens
