Job description

Duties Description Supervise computer systems analysis and design application program development, systems testing, maintenance, and implementation.

This position is on the Internet Services Administration Team in the Bureau of Software Platforms within the Chief Information Office.

  • Supervise and develop ISA staff.
  • Manage performance, training, documentation, and collaboration.
  • Oversee software administration, upgrades, security, scripting, health checks, and user management.
  • Coordinate issue resolution, batch processing, and cross-team communication while advising management on initiatives.

Requirements

  • Be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title OR

  • Be eligible for 52.6 or 70.1 transfer with one year of qualifying service in a title approved for transfer.

Transfer Options:

For 52.6 and/or 70.1 transfer to an Information Technology Specialist 4, salary grade (SG)-25, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-23 or above., * Demonstrated experience in Supervision (1 year to 2 years).

  • Demonstrated experience in Operating Systems (more than 2 years to 5 years) including, but not limited to: · AIX · Linux · RedHat · Windows

  • Demonstrated in-depth experience installing and upgrading enterprise application server software.
  • Demonstrated experience in UNIX shell scripting, PHP, PERL, or JavaScript is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis, design, and the ability to interact with both technical and business staff, including vendors.
  • Participated and/or facilitated in the design, technical analysis, and implementation of automated systems.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical specifications including flowcharts and technical diagrams.
  • Demonstrated experience with unit testing and facilitating user acceptance testing with business customers.
  • Demonstrated experience with File Transfer Process (FTP) protocols and methodologies, including those specific to Axway’s Secure File Transport.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting enterprise systems and determining where issues exist within system architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge associated with technical and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact appropriately with users and understand the organizational structure.

Appointments via transfer must not result in a second, consecutive transfer with an advancement of more than two S-grades or one M-grade.
