Job description
An employer in the Dayton, Ohio area is seeking a TS/SCI Full Stack Software Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This individual will play a key role in designing and implementing end-to-end features across modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, and back-end microservices using Python, Java, or Node.js. Responsibilities include building and enhancing API frameworks (REST, FastAPI, gRPC, GraphQL), developing scalable, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, and supporting cloud-based deployments in AWS or Azure with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. The engineer will also contribute to DevSecOps best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and security integration, while actively participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, code reviews, and user-focused design discussions. Additionally, they will support the integration of data and machine learning-driven components into mission workflows and troubleshoot issues across the full stack to improve overall system performance. This position requires working onsite five days per week and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Requirements
Active TS/SCI Security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree (STEM preferred)
4+ years of hands on full stack software development experience
Python, C++, Java, or another modern object oriented language experience
Experience with at least one front end framework (React, Angular, or Vue) or direct familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience developing and consuming FastAPI, REST/gRPC or GraphQL APIs
Experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes
Experience deploying to AWS or Azure cloud environments
Experience with GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins CI/CD automation
Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases (such as: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, or SQLite, etc.) Master’s Degree
Experience with microservices patterns, event driven architectures, or message queues (Kafka, SNS/SQS)
Experience integrating synthetic data, analytic models, or ML pipelines into applications
Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or distributed search systems
Familiarity with user centered design or reusable component libraries
Hands on experience with AI augmented development workflows or agentic tools, such as Codex, Claude Code, or OpenCode or other multi-agent approach
