Job description

  • Lead multidisciplinary System Architecture activities across Solution, Requirements & Verification, Interface Definition & ConOps functions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to SE teams supporting complex aerospace and defense programs.
  • Lead major technical reviews including SRR, SFR, PDR, and CDR, ensuring deliverables meet program and customer requirements.
  • Manage system architecture, interface control, requirements development, verification & validation, and technical trade studies for custom hardware/software systems.
  • Oversee risk and opportunity management, maintaining mitigation plans and status reporting to program leadership.
  • Support proposal development, Basis of Estimate (BOE) activities, cost estimating, and schedule forecasting.
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies using CAPELLA or similar tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and lessons learned activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related STEM field with 10+ years of relevant aerospace/defense experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, system architecture, interface control, verification & validation, and technical review leadership.
  • Experience leading engineering teams on complex defense or aerospace programs involving custom hardware and/or software systems.
  • Proficiency with Polarion and MBSE tools such as CAPELLA.
  • Experience with EVM, technical risk management, and trade study analysis.
