Job description
In this position, you will shape the future of our IT landscape and, among other things, take on the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring stable, secure, and high-performance operation of the entire IT infrastructure
- Operation, administration, and further development of our Linux-based server systems
- Support and maintenance of the databases for our internal web applications
- Responsibility for backup, restore, and security concepts

Administration and further development of the virtualization environment (VMware & HyperV), the storage environment (DataCore), and monitoring (Checkmk)
- Responsibility for network operations (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi) and support for IT security issues
- Certificate management (e.g., TLS/SSL) for internal and external services
- Analysis of malfunctions, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Support and operation of various specialized and technical systems, including Docker environments, door locking/access systems, Moodle, and connected third-party systems
- Processing, documenting, and tracking incidents, service requests, and changes in the ticket system
- Collaborating on and independently executing IT projects
- Independent collaboration with outsourcing partners and IT service providers, as well as the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
Requirements
degree in computer science, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of practical experience as a system administrator
- Very good knowledge of the Linux environment
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions
- Good knowledge of network technologies and IT infrastructures
- Substantial experience in the certificate and security environment (e.g., TLS/SSL, secure system and service configurations)
- Understanding of ITIL processes; practical experience is a plus
- A structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
- Strong focus on service, quality, and teamwork
- Good command of German
