Job description

In this role, you are the central point of contact between PAYBACK and our external IT partners. You act as a bridge between business departments, vendors, and internal stakeholders, bringing together diverse interests, developing shared solutions, and building sustainable relationships.

You ensure that our cloud, infrastructure, data center, and application services not only run reliably but continue to evolve and improve. From contract and budget management to service quality and strategic provider decisions, you take ownership with significant room to shape outcomes and make a meaningful contribution to the reliable operation of our technology platforms.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • You manage and develop our external IT service providers across infrastructure, cloud, data center, and application services, ensuring long-term and successful partnerships.
  • You own service levels, KPIs, and service reviews, evaluate provider performance, and consistently drive follow-up actions and improvements.
  • You support tenders and contract negotiations and work closely with Procurement, Legal, Data Privacy, and other business stakeholders.
  • You manage service budgets, review invoices and service acceptances, and create transparency around cost, pricing, and contractual models.
  • You ensure compliance with governance, regulatory, data privacy, and information security requirements and take ownership of escalation management for critical service incidents.
  • You identify opportunities to optimize quality, costs, and processes, implement improvements together with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous evolution of our vendor management approach.
  • You advise business stakeholders and management on provider strategies, service portfolios, and operating models.

Requirements

  • You have several years of experience in IT Vendor Management, IT Service Management, IT Procurement, or a comparable role.
  • You have experience managing external IT service providers and complex supplier and service relationships.
  • You bring solid experience in designing and managing IT contracts, service descriptions, SLAs, and commercial frameworks.
  • You have experience with budget management, invoice verification, and cost and pricing models.
  • You have a strong technical understanding of cloud, infrastructure, data center, and managed services environments and can confidently assess technical dependencies as well as data privacy and information security requirements.
  • You are experienced in working with KPIs, service reviews, escalation management, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • You think analytically, have a strong affinity for numbers, and can translate complex topics into clear recommendations and actions.
  • You work proactively, in a structured and self-driven manner, and drive change with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • You stand out through your professional presence, strong communication skills, and negotiation capabilities in both German and English.

Benefits & conditions

  • Flexibility: 30 days of annual leave, option to purchase additional vacation days, and the opportunity to take a sabbatical (may vary in Berlin)
  • Food & Drinks: Mostly free healthy and varied meals, fresh fruit and popcorn every day, as well as complimentary coffee and tea (may vary in Berlin)
  • Health & Fitness: Free access to our on-site gym, health weeks, massages, and physiotherapy services (may vary in Berlin)
  • Culture: Team events, Social Days, an open “Come as you are” culture, and active support for Female Leadership initiatives
  • Development: Individual training and development opportunities within and across teams
  • Mobility: Germany Ticket subsidy, centrally located office with direct subway access, and JobRad bike leasing
