Job description
The successful candidate will help drive our Arboricultural GIS capabilities throughout the business, streamlining our GIS outputs across the Arboricultural discipline and requiring inter-office collaboration. Expect diverse tasks, meaty projects and the chance to collaborate across disciplines, adjusting on the fly as required. While the pace is lively, there are moments to pause and reflect - no two days are the same. The location is flexible, though travel to other offices will be required when needed.
You will be involved with:
- Producing standardised GIS outputs through templates, workflows and quality assurance processes
- Maintaining spatial data management systems, including robust QA/QC procedures
- Working collaboratively with Arboricultural Technical Leads and project teams to support delivery, innovation and continuous improvement
- Supporting the use and development of digital field survey tools and spatial data capture platforms
- Maintaining visibility across offices, including regular travel where required
- Specifying technical deliverables and managing external contractors or suppliers
- You should be adept at using up-to-date GIS software and in-field digital data capture methods, and comfortable making decisions to drive our GIS capabilities across the business.

No two days are the same. You’ll work on a diverse range of projects, collaborate with multiple disciplines and play a key role in shaping how we use spatial data across the business.
Requirements
An exciting opportunity to further strengthen our GIS capabilities across the business. We are looking for a motivated and experienced GIS Consultant to join our team, helping to drive our Arboricultural GIS capabilities and working closely with colleagues across the wider business., * A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in GIS, geospatial science or a related field
- Advanced working knowledge of QGIS Experience working within arboriculture, environmental consultancy or a closely related sector
- Experience supporting a GIS team, ideally within an arboriculture or environmental consultancy
- Strong understanding of spatial data management, governance and QA/QC processes
- Experience developing GIS templates, workflows and technical standards
- Experience specifying technical deliverables and managing external contractors or suppliers
- Experience collaborating across disciplines to support project delivery
- Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and decision-making skills
- Confident and clear communicator, able to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues
- An approach that aligns with our values and collaborative ways of working
Desirable
- Experience with other GIS tools and platforms
- Experience using digital field survey and spatial data capture applications
- Experience contributing to wider digital transformation or innovation initiatives
