Network Server

Job description

Configure and test a range of IT hardware, including tablets, laptops, kiosks, tills, customer display units, switches, routers and servers.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues and carry out diagnostics.
Configure networks, servers, switches and computer hardware.
Support the build and optimisation of IT solutions.
Produce accurate and clear technical documentation.
Manage own workload in line with project schedules and deadlines.
Carry out quality control checks to ensure equipment meets required standards.
Work closely with engineering teams during technical deployments.
Provide remote technical support where required.
Support the wider technical team, including occasional visits to another UK site.
Carry out occasional site installations and customer visits to install or configure EPOS equipment.
Support ad-hoc technical projects and installations as required.

Windows, We are recruiting an experienced IT Technician to join our busy technical team in Altrincham on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a hands-on role with a salary of £30,000 and working hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. You will work across a varied range of IT, networking and EPOS technologies, supporting technical deployments, installations and customer projects while collaborating closely with our engineering teams.

Requirements

Minimum 2-3 years of experience within IT or EPOS, ideally in technical deployments involving hardware, networking and software.
Strong experience configuring networks, servers, switches and computer hardware.
Previous experience working with EPOS systems.
Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7-11 and Windows Server 2012-2022.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Teams.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
Proactive, self-motivated approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
Desirable: basic knowledge of electronics.
Desirable: comfortable working with repetitive technical tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Desirable: physically capable of handling the practical demands of a hands-on technical role.
Desirable: full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
