Requirements

2+ years of related experience. Experience providing customer support in an IT environment.\n \n \nPreferred Experience:\n Experience providing technology support to a lab or department in a university setting, including knowledge of specialized software, systems or technologies.\n \n \nRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:\n Understanding of computing procedures, standards and desktop and network configurations. Expertise in systems, network hardware and software. Ability to work independently, skills to creatively troubleshoot and ability to express oneself clearly in both oral and written mode. Serve as a resource to junior technical support staff on the majority of standard procedures and some non-recurring problems and non-standard situations.\n

Benefits & conditions

Provide basic hardware, software, and applications support for a lab or department which may have multiple locations and/or a complex technical environment including specialized technologies or systems that must interface with the network. Monitor and oversee the unit’s local area networks (LANs) and PCs, which requires an operational understanding of the unique systems or applications of the unit and their implications/requirements for the technical infrastructure. May provide guidance to junior technical support staff.\n, In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $38.106. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts.
