Cloud Platform Engineer with Kubernetes

Build and operate a highly available Coder deployment on Kubernetes (AKS) with managed PostgreSQL and OIDC-based authentication.

• Design and implement production-quality Terraform workspace templates and golden-path developer environments.
• Create and maintain hardened base container images and secure development container patterns.
• Implement and validate security controls including: Network Policies, Egress allowlisting, Secrets management, SSH restrictions, Audit logging and SIEM integrations
• Configure reliable connectivity to source control platforms, package registries, internal APIs, and databases.
• Perform load testing, scaling validation, cost optimization, and performance benchmarking.
• Evaluate developer experience metrics including cold-start times, responsiveness, and access friction.
• Ensure platform portability across cloud providers and avoid cloud-specific lock-in.
• Produce detailed documentation, operational runbooks, implementation evidence, risk assessments, and production readiness recommendations.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes, networking, identity integration, and developer workspace issues.

A hands-on engineer with strong expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and containerized development environments, who is comfortable working within a security and architecture model defined by other stakeholders while providing honest, evidence-based assessments of platform capabilities and limitations., Strong experience with Terraform in production environments: Module development and composition, Versioning strategies, State management, Drift detection and remediation and Maintainable Infrastructure as Code practices

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, or similar): RBAC, Network Policies, Pod Security Standards, Resource governance, Secrets management and Cluster troubleshooting
• Experience building and maintaining container images and development environments.
• Strong Linux administration and network troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with: DNS, TLS, HTTP proxies, Source-control connectivity and Remote development environments
• Experience implementing OIDC-based Single Sign-On, group mapping, and identity integrations.
• Ability to implement and validate security controls while documenting findings objectively.
• Professional experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Microsoft Azure services.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Coder or similar developer platform solutions such as: GitHub Codespaces, Gitpod, Microsoft Dev Box, Daytona
• Knowledge of: Dev Containers, @devcontainers/cli, Envbuilder
• Experience with secure image builds without privileged containers or Docker socket mounting.
• Understanding of advanced container isolation and egress control mechanisms.
• Experience with: Load testing, Cost engineering, Capacity planning, Developer platform operations
• Knowledge of AWS alongside Azure.
• Experience in regulated environments where security controls and compliance evidence are required.
• Familiarity with cloud portability and multi-cloud architectures.
