Remote Senior Automation QA Engineer

A higher education-focused consulting client of Insight Global is seeking a QA Engineer is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join their team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through a combination of automated and manual testing efforts. Working within an Agile environment, the QA Automation Engineer will partner closely with product managers, developers, and QA team members to define testing requirements, create detailed test plans and test cases, and develop automation strategies that support high-quality software delivery.

In this role, the QA Automation Engineer will design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools, while also executing functional, regression, reliability, scalability, and performance testing efforts. This individual will oversee test execution, analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and drive timely resolutions. They will play a key role in establishing and enhancing automation best practices, ensuring testing processes remain scalable and efficient as applications evolve. The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented problem solver with strong automation experience, a passion for software quality, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with changing priorities. They should be comfortable taking ownership of testing initiatives, communicating proactively across teams, and continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation and innovation.

This is a remote opportunity with a collaborative and fast-paced team environment. The pay rate for this role will vary depending on experience, location, and skillset and will range from 22-32 LAKH. • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using Selenium and/or Playwright
• Strong experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks from scratch
• Programming experience with object-oriented languages including Java
• Experience with Microsoft development tools including Azure DevOps and Git
• Strong knowledge of test planning, test case creation, test execution, regression testing, and defect management
• Experience collaborating with product, development, and QA teams to define automation requirements and test strategies
• Experience performing scalability, reliability, performance, and recovery testing
• Ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and partner with engineering teams to drive defect resolution
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work through ambiguity, and proactively solve problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of ownership and accountability - Higher Education industry experience
• Experience performing basic web application security testing
• Basic understanding of performance and load testing methodologies
• Knowledge of web-based application architecture
• Experience using SQL for data validation and testing
• Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies
