Job description
Seeking for an Application Support Engineer to support and maintain multiple enterprise application environments. This role involves environment readiness, application operations, troubleshooting, incident management, monitoring, and release coordination across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Support and maintain enterprise application environments across DEV, SIT, CAT, and PROD.
- Ensure environment availability, stability, and readiness for application testing and releases.
- Perform environment maintenance activities, including refreshes, deployments, patching, upgrades, configuration changes, and access management.
- Use advanced SQL queries and joins to investigate data and application issues across Oracle, Cloudera, DataStax, or similar platforms.
- Perform Linux/UNIX administration and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support Kafka/Confluent integrations, including topics, consumers, message validation, and data-movement processes.
- Troubleshoot application, database, integration, infrastructure, and environment-related issues.
- Manage incidents and service requests using ServiceNow, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
- Coordinate vendor support escalations and track issues through resolution.
- Use Splunk Enterprise to perform log analysis, troubleshooting, monitoring, and trend identification.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Neustar, and cloud monitoring platforms, where applicable.
- Lead and facilitate critical incident bridges, coordinating technical teams and stakeholders during high-priority incidents.

Requirements
- Strong experience with SQL, including complex queries, joins, data validation, troubleshooting, and performance awareness.
- Experience working with database/data platforms such as Oracle, Cloudera, DataStax, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX operations.
- Experience developing shell scripts for troubleshooting, maintenance, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or Confluent, including topics, consumers, message validation, and integration/data-movement patterns.
- Experience supporting applications across DEV, SIT, CAT/UAT, and PROD environments.
- Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
- Strong experience with Splunk Enterprise for monitoring and log analysis.
- Experience with environment readiness, deployment coordination, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and release support.
- Strong incident-management and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to lead critical incident bridges and coordinate multiple technical stakeholders under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AppDynamics and/or Neustar.
- Experience with cloud-based monitoring and observability tools.
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience with VersionOne, ALM, or similar lifecycle management platforms.
- Experience creating and maintaining architecture and data-flow diagrams.
- Experience developing system and network specifications.
- Familiarity with NCRB documentation/artifacts.
- Experience identifying and implementing operational automation opportunities.
- Experience developing recommendations for infrastructure or operational cost optimization.
