Job description

Our technology helps organizations instantly reach the right people, coordinate responses, and manage critical events to empower schools, healthcare systems, manufacturers, enterprises, and public organizations to create safer environments.

Just as important as what we build is how we work. We’re a collaborative, supportive team that cares deeply about our mission, our customers, and each other.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for smart, creative, and driven engineers to test new safety and notification features for InformaCast, to solve difficult test automation problems, and to improve the speed and reliability with which we release new features to our customers.

InformaCast covers a wide technical footprint: cloud and on-premises notification delivery, incident management for active emergencies, wearable panic button hardware (BLE/LoRaWAN), mobile/desktop applications, IP phone/speaker integrations, and enterprise-scale administrative tools.

What You Will Do

  • Find and document bugs in everything you look at, with or without automation
  • Write clean, reusable automated API and UI tests
  • Maintain existing test suites, investigate failures, and improve test reliability
  • Create and improve tooling to effectively test our system at scale
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to make decisions on features, design, technology, and architecture
  • Contribute to internal documentation about the product

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Experience:
  • 2+ years experience in software testing
  • Demonstrated prowess at bug finding and reporting
  • Proven ability to develop test strategies independently
  • 2+ years experience in test automation
  • Proficiency in a scripting language like Groovy or Python
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with any of the following technologies:
  • UI automation: Playwright
  • Test specification: Spock
  • Delivery and deployment: GitLab CI, Jenkins
  • Experience in functional non-UI test automation, e.g. at the API layer
  • Experience in testing distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in performance or scale testing of large systems
