Job description

We are looking for bright Hardware Integration Engineers interested in designing and building next-generation compute and sensor hardware for autonomous and AI-driven vehicles. Our hardware engineers work across the full hardware lifecycle - from schematic design and PCB layout to bring-up, validation, and production support - collaborating closely with software, firmware, and mechanical teams to ship reliable systems into production vehicle programs.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Design and review schematics and PCB layouts for compute, sensor, and interface hardware
  • Support hardware bring-up and debug, including board-level and component-level troubleshooting
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate hardware functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to integrate hardware with embedded systems and validate end-to-end functionality
  • Work with vendors and contract manufacturers to support prototyping, DFM/DFT reviews, and production ramp
  • Contribute to hardware documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test reports

Requirements

  • BS/BA, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related degree
  • Strong fundamentals in circuit design, digital/analog electronics, and PCB layout graduating by December 2026
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers) for hardware debug and validation
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and hardware specifications

Nice to have:

  • Experience with high-speed digital design, power electronics, or RF/sensor interfaces
  • Familiarity with communication protocols relevant to vehicle systems (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C)
  • Exposure to compliance/EMC testing or DFM/DFT processes
  • Prior internship or project experience with automotive, robotics, or embedded hardware, Affirmative Action, Agriculture, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Automotive Repair and Maintenance, Communications Protocols, Computer Engineering, Computer Firmware, Computer Hardware, Construction, Contract Manufacturing, DFT (Design for Test), Debugging Skills, Digital Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Interference Testing, Electronic Design, Electronics, Embedded Hardware, Embedded Systems, Ethernet, Federal Contracts, Functional Testing, Graphic Design, Hardware Administration, Hardware Debugging, I2C, Identify Issues, Laboratory, Laboratory Equipment, Logic Analyzer, Mining Industry, Operating Systems, Oscilloscope, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout, Printed Circuit Board Design, Production Support, Prototyping, Radio Frequency, Regulations, Robotics, Schedule Development, Schematics, Software Engineering, System Integration (SI), System Validation, Test Plan/Schedule, Testing, Trucking, United States Military, Vehicle Driving
