Job description

We are looking for a Data Support Analyst to join our team and help us handle a significant data migration project. Our partner is a London based organization that is currently transitioning away from a complex system of legacy spreadsheets toward a unified database architecture. This role is about the practical side of data: finding errors, cleaning up inconsistencies, and making sure that the information we move is accurate and useful for the client. This is a full time, permanent position that is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything including the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a team that prefers solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends. When something breaks, we are the ones who answer the phone and fix it. The Role In this role, you will be the bridge between the messy reality of client data and the structured systems we build. Much of your time will be spent auditing existing records from our London partner to identify what needs to be fixed before it can be imported. You will look for duplicate entries, missing fields, and formatting errors that would cause a database import to fail. This is not just about moving files; it is about understanding the logic behind the data. You will work closely with our senior developers to test data migration scripts. When a script runs and an error pops up, you will be the one to investigate why. You will also help create documentation that explains how the data was transformed, ensuring the client understands their new system. This role is fully remote and requires a high level of self-organization, as you will be managing your own tasks and reporting on your progress during our internal check-ins. The work is steady and requires a methodical approach to problem solving.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of bringing order to chaotic information. You do not need a long history of professional experience to be successful here, but you should have a solid grasp of how data is structured. If you have spent time working with spreadsheets, building small databases for personal projects, or learning the basics of how information flows between software applications, you will be well-prepared for this entry level position.

  • A strong attention to detail and the patience to look through large datasets.
  • The ability to explain technical findings clearly in writing.
  • Basic familiarity with how databases work and how they differ from spreadsheets.
  • A logical mindset for troubleshooting why a specific record might be causing an error.
  • Comfort working in a fully remote environment where clear communication is vital.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and processes as the project evolves.
  • A practical approach to work, focusing on what needs to be done to reach the finish line.

Helpful background While this is an entry level role, there are a few things that might make your start easier. If you have any experience with SQL, that will be very useful. Familiarity with tools like GitHub for version control or experience using basic APIs is also a plus. We use Node and Postgres frequently, so any exposure to those technologies through your studies or independent learning will help you get up to speed faster. Even if you have not used these specific tools, a general curiosity about how software systems are built is what matters most. Working at Pixel Systems

Benefits & conditions

Working at Pixel Systems means you are part of a small, focused team where your work has a direct impact on the project. We do not have layers of middle management or long, unproductive meetings. Instead, we focus on shipping high-quality work that solves real problems for people like warehouse managers and operations teams. We value your time and believe in a healthy work-life balance, which is supported by our fully remote setup. The pay for this position is competitive for the market and reflects the importance of the role in our project delivery. You will have the chance to learn from experienced developers who value clarity and stability over technical trends. We keep things simple, we work hard, and we make sure our clients are taken care of. We take pride in our no-drama culture. We are honest with each other and with our clients about what can be done and how long it will take. As a Data Support Analyst, you will be an essential part of that transparency, helping us ensure that every migration we perform is backed by clean, verified data. It is a great environment for someone who wants to build a career in data or software development by learning the fundamentals in a supportive and practical setting. ,workplace_type
