Job description

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a SecureView Communications and Network Integration Specialist to provide on-site installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and integration of voice and data communications supporting SecureView terminals and infrastructure.

This position will support network components, VPN connectivity, wireless access points, terminal communications, routing, cutovers, testing, documentation, and coordination with DLA LAN, WAN, firewall, security, and systems organizations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan installation, transition, upgrade, and cutover activities for SecureView communications components and capabilities.
  • Coordinate requirements and schedules with users, Government personnel, system administrators, network teams, security teams, and suppliers.
  • Install, test, operate, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair voice and data network communications equipment.
  • Support switches, modems, controllers, terminals, wireless access points, VPN components, cabling, and related communications hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot network routing, connectivity, wireless, VPN, terminal communication, latency, and access-path issues.
  • Use communications test and monitoring equipment to evaluate performance and isolate failures.
  • Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions or configuration changes.
  • Coordinate SecureView communications issues across DLA Security, LAN, WAN, and firewall organizations.
  • Validate that remote and residential SecureView network routing functions securely and without unauthorized data exposure.
  • Support installation testing, acceptance testing, system upgrades, maintenance windows, and post-change validation.
  • Develop and maintain network integration diagrams, communication-path documentation, test results, configuration records, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance to Tier 1/2 support and Tier 3 systems administration personnel.
  • Support after-hours or emergency activities required to maintain SecureView continuity of operations.
  • Transfer network diagrams, VPN configurations, WAP configurations, routing information, test procedures, and communications knowledge during transition-out.

Requirements

  • Clearance Required: Active Department of Defense Secret clearance required.
  • Investigation / Position Sensitivity: Favorable Tier 5 investigation and Critical Sensitive eligibility required for privileged SecureView network and communications access.
  • Required DoD 8140 Qualification: Must meet any applicable DoD cyberspace workforce, computing-environment, or tool qualification required for assigned access.
  • Place of Performance: Full-time on-site at the Government-designated SecureView support location in Columbus, Ohio, or another approved DLA location.
  • Required Experience: Minimum five years of relevant experience covering communications networks.
  • Required Installation Experience: Experience installing and maintaining voice or data network communications hardware and software.
  • Required Network Experience: Experience supporting switches, modems, controllers, terminals, multiplexers, VPNs, wireless access points, network routing, and connectivity.
  • Required Testing Experience: Experience using communications test and monitoring equipment and analyzing test results.
  • Required Planning Experience: Experience planning installations, transitions, upgrades, and cutovers while coordinating with users and suppliers.
  • Required Documentation Experience: Experience developing network diagrams, test records, configuration documentation, installation plans, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Desired Skills: SecureView, SIPRNet, LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networking, TCP/IP, network monitoring, ServiceNow, and Government installation support.
