Data Center Technician (ISP)

• Perform large-scale fiber pulling and routing throughout the data center facility.
• Execute comprehensive fiber testing and certification using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.
• Install and secure structured cabling systems according to specific design schematics.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic connectivity issues, including signal loss and physical damage.
• Terminate and splice fiber optic cables to meet industry standards.
• Ensure precise labeling and documentation of all new and existing fiber runs.
• Maintain organized cable management within racks, cabinets, and overhead trays.

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technician (ISP) in Montgomery, AL. The Data Center Technician (ISP) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of fiber optic infrastructure within a high-density data center environment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate extensive experience in fiber pulling and the use of specialized testing equipment to ensure network reliability. Job Type: Contract, * Significant hands-on experience with fiber optic pulling and testing is required.

• Proficiency with industry-standard testing equipment such as Fluke meters or OTDRs.
• Strong understanding of Inside Plant (ISP) cabling standards and data center best practices.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, cable schedules, and technical diagrams.
• Experience with structured cabling, including copper and fiber terminations.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the duration of a standard shift.
• Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and reach into restricted areas.
• Must have the manual dexterity required for handling and terminating small fiber strands.
• Must be able to distinguish between different colors for cable identification.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $22 to $26 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location.
