Job description

  • Install, route, and secure structured cabling within data center environments according to project specifications.
  • Perform Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) cabling tasks including cable pulling and dressing.
  • Terminate copper and fiber cables using hand tools such as snips, punch-down tools, and RJ45 crimpers.
  • Conduct cable testing and troubleshooting to ensure high-performance connectivity and signal integrity.
  • Support the deployment of hardware infrastructure including racks, cabinets, and patch panels.
  • Maintain accurate labeling and documentation of all cabling runs and infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and adhere to quality standards.
  • Travel between various data center locations in the Northern Virginia area including Haymarket, Alexandria, and Leesburg.
  • Comply with all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Telecommunications testing equipment?, Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Installers & Technicians in Ashburn, VA. This role involves the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems within a large-scale data center environment. The ideal candidate possesses 6 to 12 months of experience in telecommunications or ISP/OSP cabling and is prepared to support mission-critical projects through flexible scheduling and consistent site-to-site travel within the Northern Virginia region., * 6 months to 1 year of experience in telecommunications or structured cabling.

  • Hands-on experience with ISP, OSP, and standard cable testing procedures.
  • Ownership of basic trade tools including snips, punch-down tool, and RJ45 crimping tool.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the flexibility to commute between different data center sites as required.
  • Availability to work a regular Mon-Fri 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM schedule with flexibility for Saturday work and overtime.
  • US Citizenship is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-security mission-critical environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk large jobsites regularly for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined or tight spaces.
  • Manual dexterity to use hand tools and handle small cabling components for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, and reach out for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to see and distinguish different cable color codes and read small print on labels.

Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
