Job description

We’re looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support an embedded AWS environment and help drive reliable, scalable, and well-documented delivery for a regulated enterprise setting. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional technical teams on observability, automation, infrastructure-as-code, and operational readiness. Responsibilities

  • Build and support automation, CI/CD workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and operational runbooks for AWS-based delivery.
  • Partner as an embedded AWS subject matter expert to provide hands-on implementation support across engineering and platform teams.
  • Design and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and X-Ray.
  • Deploy and configure observability components for EKS and ECS environments, including dashboards, alerts, logs, and tracing.
  • Support OpenTelemetry implementation and help integrate tracing, metrics, and logs across AWS services.
  • Contribute to secure and repeatable cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation, Terraform, and related automation tools.
  • Create clear technical documentation, including design documents, runbooks, architecture decisions, and validation evidence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, security, operations, SRE, and delivery teams to support audit-ready execution.
  • Help ensure solutions align with regulated financial services expectations, including operational resilience and change-control practices.

Requirements

  • Hands-on AWS DevOps experience with strong knowledge of cloud-native delivery practices.
  • Practical experience with observability tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus, Amazon Managed Grafana, and AWS X-Ray.
  • Experience supporting Kubernetes-based environments, especially EKS, and familiarity with ECS.
  • Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry standards and deployment of ADOT collectors in AWS environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of AWS security and access controls, including IAM and Secrets Manager.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for review and audit purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in a regulated enterprise environment, preferably financial services.
  • Ability to work onsite in a hybrid schedule and participate in interview and onboarding requirements as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional certification.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification or equivalent AWS credentials.
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate or CKA certification.
  • Experience with Splunk, Zabbix, or Dynatrace.
  • Exposure to AWS services such as EventBridge, Systems Manager, SNS/SQS, Lambda, Kinesis, or OpenSearch.
  • Familiarity with operational resilience concepts such as RTO/RPO and multi-region disaster recovery.
  • Experience supporting governance, risk, compliance, and audit documentation in enterprise environments.
  • Python or Bash scripting experience for automation and operational support.
