Job description

The Electrical Project Manager - Critical Power oversees mission-critical construction projects focused on Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), backup generators, power distribution units (PDUs), switchgear, and transfer switches. This role manages the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring continuous and reliable power delivery for environments such as data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and logistics hubs. The position may be based in Lenexa, KS or an Arkansas office, with potential remote flexibility for candidates located within approximately 200 miles of either location., * Lead full lifecycle project management for critical power projects, from preconstruction planning through project closeout.

  • Oversee mission-critical construction activities involving UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, backup generators, and transfer switches.
  • Maintain accountability for project safety, schedule adherence, execution quality, and overall financial performance.
  • Manage profit and loss responsibilities, including budget forecasting and cost control.
  • Write detailed subcontractor scopes of work and manage vendor and subcontractor relationships to ensure high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of design documents and oversee field implementation to confirm compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Lead client interactions, address concerns, and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Create, update, and maintain construction schedules, project timelines, and meeting documentation.
  • Manage daily operational tasks related to active projects to keep work progressing efficiently.
  • Provide logistical project support, including coordination of materials, equipment, and field resources.
  • Create and maintain organized project files, records, and documentation.
  • Manage project scheduling, including coordination of internal teams, subcontractors, and client milestones.
  • Oversee project billings, invoicing, and related financial documentation.
  • Manage the process of sourcing, evaluating, and estimating selected bid opportunities while maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism.
  • Delegate tasks effectively through team resources and provide guidance and support to project team members.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
  • Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by the company and OSHA, and promote a safety-first culture on all job sites.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, backup generators, and transfer switches.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working with engineered drawings, bid specifications, and construction take-offs.
  • Proven project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team while also working independently and being self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • High level of attention to detail in reviewing plans, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities., * Preferred experience in heavy electrical or critical power projects, particularly in mission-critical environments such as data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, or logistics hubs.
  • Experience with estimating and bid evaluation for electrical and critical power projects.
  • Familiarity with low-voltage systems, CCTV, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage profit/loss responsibilities and perform budget forecasting.
  • Capability to lead client meetings and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong teamwork orientation combined with the ability to manage and delegate through team resources.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to maintain a high standard of professionalism under pressure., This role supports critical power projects primarily associated with large commercial and mission-critical facilities, including data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and logistics hubs. Work is based out of either a Lenexa, KS or Arkansas office, with potential remote flexibility for candidates located within approximately 200 miles of either location. The position involves regular use of Microsoft Office and company-provided technology such as a laptop, cell phone, and, typically after a contract period, a company truck, with flexibility to provide a vehicle earlier if needed. The work environment emphasizes strict adherence to OSHA and company safety requirements on all project sites.
