Job description

You’ll join a cross-functional team that works closely with the product and the business. Instead of building for abstract end users, you’ll develop tooling that is used daily by internal teams responsible for processing, structuring and optimizing content.

The focus is on backend development using Java and Spring Boot, where you build services and integrations that support these workflows. At the same time, you have a fullstack mindset and occasionally contribute to the frontend in TypeScript/React, allowing you to understand and influence the full picture.

What makes this role interesting is the continuous interaction with non-technical stakeholders. You translate their needs into concrete solutions and directly see the impact of your work in how teams operate more efficiently and effectively. This gives you not only technical impact, but also real product and business impact.

You’ll work alongside experienced senior engineers, giving you the opportunity to grow quickly in both technical depth and in how you approach complex challenges within a product-driven environment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a backend or fullstack developer
  • Strong foundation in Java and Spring Boot
  • Affinity with frontend (TypeScript/React) or motivation to learn
  • Experience or interest in cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP), Docker and event streaming (Kafka)
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable in an international environment
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to keep learning

Benefits & conditions

  • Do you enjoy working on software that doesn’t disappear deep into a backend, but has a direct and visible impact on a real product?
  • Do you want to build systems that determine how content is processed, enriched and ultimately delivered to a global audience at scale (100M+ users)?
  • And do you say yes to a salary up to €72.000, working in an international scale-up with 20+ nationalities, and a culture where work and fun go hand in hand?

Sounds like you? Keep reading., * Salary up to €72.000 per year based on experience and impact

  • 3 days per week in the Amsterdam office, rest from home
  • 25 holidays
  • Pension scheme (5% contribution)
  • Travel allowance
  • MacBook or laptop
  • Daily breakfast and lunch at the office
  • Plenty of room to learn from experienced engineers
  • A social and energetic culture with events, outings and team activities

About the company

You’ll join an internationally operating tech company based in Amsterdam, building a scalable streaming platform in the world of music and video. The product already reaches over 100 million users worldwide, meaning the software you build is directly visible and impactful at scale.

From a technical perspective, you’ll work in a modern environment with Java, cloud (GCP), event streaming and microservices. Teams own their domain and build end-to-end services that are continuously improved and evolved. This is not a maintenance-heavy environment, but one focused on building, improving and scaling.

What makes this place unique is the combination of strong engineering and culture. You’ll work with engineers from 20+ nationalities in an environment where knowledge sharing, collaboration and ownership are key, while still having plenty of room for social activities, events and a strong team dynamic. No wonder why people stay here for many years!
