Bioinformatics Software Developer

• BSc in mathematics (or similar) or MMath, followed by a PhD in computational biology or biostatistics.
• Postdoc experience (in a different lab to your PhD) or post-PhD industry experience on biostatistics applied projects (ideally cancer genomic data sets).
• Strong scientific programming experience (using Python and / or R) applied to statistical techniques to biological problems including novel algorithm development.
• Experience of commercial software development practices including regulatory standards and associated quality assurances.

Based at their Cambridge offices, this scientific tech company has recently secured additional funding and are looking to grow their team. They are a multidisciplinary company developing innovative approaches for molecular diagnostics for medical applications including early genetic detection for cancer prognosis. They are keen to recruit a Senior Bioinformatics Software Developer to join them.

As part of the team, you will support R&D and play a key role in the product development pipeline from concept to validation and product launch. You will provide expertise from multiple strands of science and mathematics to provide analysis and interpretation of genomic data sets and help develop new analytical tools for clinical validation.
