Software Engineer

This software startup welcome the experience and perspectives of developers from all walks of life and a variety of technical backgrounds. You’ll need some core experience, and to be an experienced developer, but they are keen to find diverse motivated people to join them as they continue to grow.

In just a few years their software has made a real difference to the healthcare sector, to both doctors and patients. Their small team includes people with experience of this area and developers who just want to work on a product which has a meaningful impact., * Proficiency in one web/server programming language, and working knowledge of one or more others

• An understanding of web technology, HTTP and web APIs
• To be capable of unit testing and integration testing
• A reasonable grasp of databases (SQL or NoSQL)

You’ll be looking to bring your ideas to the team, question assumptions, and you’ll be the sort of person who has something to contribute to architectural discussions and detailed code reviews. If you have AWS or Azure experience, know about performance, and/or have worked in startups or healthcare software, that’s great but not required.

They currently use C#, React, Redux and SignalR, Git, Trello and Slack, so you’ll need to be open to those.

They don’t require you to have a full specific tech stack, since you and they are both smart enough to change the tech you work with over your career, when you need to. They don’t require “full stack” developers; if that’s you, that’s very welcome, but if you’re somewhere in the cloud, browser and desktop development space there may well be a place for you.
