Job description

Under the direction of the District Systems Administrator, the Information Technology Systems Support is responsible for training, assisting, and supporting staff in the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of assigned software and hardware systems. Must be able to assume assignments with a high degree of self-direction, proceed in an organized manner, understand how to research requirements and issues, provide documentation of work and procedures, and seek expert assistance where indicated. Excellent communication skills are essential. Regular interaction with users in a timely and professional manner is required., * Provide building-level tier 1 technical support for a wide range of software applications and equipment to students and staff

  • Become proficient in the use of all existing and newly acquired technology and software systems, in order to assist staff to access and maximize their use of such systems
  • Process work orders via helpdesk support system
  • Manage and perform hardware repairs and/or upgrades to district technology systems
  • Perform regular software upgrades on desktop, laptop and mobile technology systems
  • Maintain and develop, when necessary, technical documentation for providing instruction and reference
  • Maintain district-wide services (i.e. backup systems) as assigned by the District Systems Administrator
  • Install and maintain battery backup systems
  • Assemble and maintain furniture as needed for IT equipment (i.e. laptop storage racks, mobile computer carts, etc).
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all district hardware systems
  • Support Staff with extensive knowledge of instructional tools, computers, peripherals and operating systems including, but not limited to the following:
  • Current Operating Systems: Windows, iOS, Chrome OS, Android OS, etc.
  • Productivity Software: i.e. Office, GAFE, various Curriculum Software
  • Support current classroom learning tools, (document cameras, printers, projectors, sound, etc…) and the capacity to integrate future systems
  • Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the District Systems Administrator

Requirements

  • Must possess a working knowledge of all major desktop and mobile platforms, including MacOS, Windows (server and desktop), ChromeOS, and iOS, including the ability to troubleshoot all platforms.
  • Experience with Google Suite preferred
  • Experience with PowerSchool preferred

Other Considerations and Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate needs in non-technical language and in a clear and understandable fashion
  • Must be comfortable with, and able to communicate to students of all ages in a technical support role as needed
  • Must be able to clearly, accurately, and effectively communicate through both written and verbal communication while acting as a member of a professional team.
  • Ability to work independently, and perform all job functions with minimal supervision
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, and be willing to use said vehicle for transporting equipment, supplies, and tools on an as-needed basis
