Job description

We are seeking a Contract GenAI Engineer with expertise in agent orchestration, multi-agent workflows, AWS AI services, and enterprise GenAI applications. In this role, you will design and build the application intelligence layer that interprets user requests, captures contextual information, routes requests to the appropriate agents and services, and delivers consistent, grounded responses across the enterprise.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex orchestration challenges, designing scalable AI workflows, and creating reusable capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple business applications.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and enhance an enterprise GenAI application layer that understands user intent and workflow context.
  • Capture and leverage relevant information such as conversation history, active screen context, user selections, filters, and workflow state.
  • Design and implement intelligent routing across agents, tools, and data services.
  • Develop multi-agent orchestration and chaining solutions that coordinate capabilities across enterprise AI systems.
  • Create reusable tools, skills, and workflows that can be shared across applications and teams.
  • Transform agent responses into business-friendly outputs, including:
  • Narrative summaries
  • Data tables
  • Visualizations and charts
  • Citations and references
  • Standardized response payloads
  • Define and maintain scalable API contracts, schema definitions, and structured JSON input/output models.
  • Collaborate with existing data and AI services to deliver seamless end-user experiences.
  • Build, test, deploy, and support production-ready GenAI services with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Strong backend engineering experience using Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Proven production experience with:
  • Agent orchestration
  • Tool calling frameworks
  • Workflow routing
  • Multi-agent systems and chaining
  • Expertise in API design, schema management, and structured JSON contracts.
  • Experience combining user intent, conversation history, contextual application data, and business filters into downstream AI requests.
  • Strong ability to transform agent outputs into actionable narratives, tables, charts, citations, and standardized application responses.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI solutions using:
  • AWS
  • Amazon Bedrock
  • AgentCore
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver tested, reliable, and production-grade software., * Experience building capability registries, agent catalogs, tool registries, workflow skills, or discovery platforms.
  • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and API-first GenAI architectures.
  • Experience developing analytics applications that leverage existing semantic layers, data-query engines, or intelligent data agents.
  • Background designing reusable AI capabilities at enterprise scale.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • San Francisco Bay Area candidates preferred, with the ability to work onsite 1-2 days per week.
  • Candidates outside the Bay Area must maintain 4-6 hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time business hours.
