Billing Analysis and Master Data Section Supervisor

Plans, directs, and evaluates the overall workload and progress of the SWP Billing Analysis and Master Data Section staff to ensure the timely processing of billings: reviews billing records, manages the reconciliation of receivable general ledger balances, manages the reconciliation of external/internal customer balances, ensures the preparation of necessary financial information following State statues and administrative regulations, and ensures the receivable general ledger accounts reflect an accurate balance necessary for the preparation of a GAAP financial statement.

Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day direction to individuals within this Section.

Continually strives to learn new processes and implement process improvements within the billing/recovery functions., 1. Describe your knowledge and experience with accounts receivables and reconciliations.

1. Describe how you have encouraged collaboration and communication between your team, other accounting units, and other departments to ensure everyone is working towards the department’s mission and goals. Describe your leadership style.
2. Describe your experience supervising accounting or fiscal staff. Include how you planned and assigned work, developed training plans, evaluated performance, and adjusted desk procedures or workflows to improve efficiency or accuracy. Provide a specific example and describe the outcome.

Desirable qualifications include excellent customer service, teamwork and motivational skills, and knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.

Duties require intermediate to advances Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge and understanding of GAAP procedures; Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements; governmental accounting and budgeting; principles of electronic data processing; principles of policy formulation; statistical methods; principles of finance; business law; principles of business management; and uniform accounting systems.
