Job description

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications within Workday Extend to automate HR operational workflows, including offboarding administration and consolidation of legacy HRSS tools.
  • Build dynamic page layouts, custom business processes, custom objects, and field components using the Workday Extend App Builder framework.
  • Develop Workday Orchestrations to automate multi-step HR processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Develop secure REST APIs, web services, and integration orchestration flows connecting Workday Extend applications with Workday Core HCM, Workday Payroll, and external systems, including Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
  • Develop custom data validation rules, automated checks, and backend logic supporting Touchless Payroll initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers and Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) to translate functional requirements and process maps into scalable Workday Extend architectures.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by troubleshooting technical defects, optimizing application performance, and refining business logic.
  • Apply Workday security policies, domain security definitions, and user role configurations to ensure compliant access to data and custom applications.
  • Design and implement integration solutions using Workday Studio, REST APIs, SOAP, EIBs, PECI, XML, XSLT, and JSON.
  • Participate in application testing, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation, and ongoing production support.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Extend, including App Builder, Custom Business Processes, and Workday Orchestrations.
  • Strong knowledge of the Workday ecosystem, including HCM, Business Process Framework, Custom Reporting, Calculated Fields, and Security Groups.
  • Proficiency with Workday Studio and Workday integration technologies.
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, SOAP web services, EIBs, PECI, XML, XSLT, and JSON.
  • Strong understanding of web services, data modeling, integration architecture, and object-oriented development concepts.
  • Ability to translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, testing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying applications using Workday Extend.
  • 6+ years of overall Workday experience across HCM, Business Process Framework, Custom Reporting, Calculated Fields, and Security Groups.
  • Experience developing integrations between Workday Extend, Workday Core HCM, Workday Payroll, and external payroll systems.
  • Experience with Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and Touchless Payroll automation is preferred.
  • Experience supporting UAT, defect remediation, application performance optimization, and production support.
  • Experience working with Program Managers, Business Systems Analysts, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Workday Extend Certification is preferred.
  • Workday Studio and/or Workday Integrations Certification is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience may be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Benefits & conditions

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $60.00 to $65.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
