Job description

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all phases of outside plant (OSP) fiber optic construction and installation projects. Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, permitting, material procurement, safety compliance, and customer communications to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget., * Manage end-to-end OSP fiber optic installation projects from kickoff through closeout.

  • Develop project schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
  • Track project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with engineering, permitting, construction crews, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Conduct project status meetings and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Supervise aerial and underground fiber optic installation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, construction standards, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate utility locates, traffic control, restoration, and inspections.
  • Monitor contractor performance and field productivity.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and forecasts.
  • Review invoices, change orders, and purchase requests.
  • Control project costs and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Track labor, equipment, and material expenses.
  • Enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct field safety audits and support incident investigations when necessary.
  • Maintain project documentation, permits, and compliance records.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers, municipalities, utilities, and internal teams.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and issue resolutions.
  • Coordinate with property owners and public agencies as needed.
  • Maintain project schedules, progress reports, and closeout documentation.
  • Track as-built documentation and project deliverables.
  • Utilize project management software and reporting tools.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have a valid Certified Project Manager certification?, Do you have experience in Productivity software?, * Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.

  • Three (3) to seven (7) years of project management experience in telecommunications or utility construction.
  • Experience with outside plant (OSP) fiber optic installation projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) deployments.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks., * Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, or telecom engineering software.
  • Familiarity with NESC and OSHA safety standards.
  • Knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods.
  • Strong understanding of permitting and utility coordination.
  • Experience managing telecommunications or utility construction projects involving aerial and underground fiber deployment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Budgeting and cost-control expertise.
  • Problem-solving and risk management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic construction standards and practices., Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 50%.
