User Experience Designer (UX Designer)
Location: Manchester (2 days/week office)
Job type: Contract (1 year)
Role Description
Working within the UX Design team, the role is to support the continuous improvement of the digital user experience across multiple digital channels. Help define interactivity and design for a variety of products, proposing solutions that balance user needs with business goals and technical capabilities. Driven by discovering how and why customers use our products, you will communicate these needs and propose solutions that excite and enthuse our customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Work across the entire lifecycle of a product, translating insights from research and analytics into concepts and solutions.
- Partner with product owners, developers and business stakeholders to create solutions, driving vision and strategy.
- Collaborate with the UX and content community to create, improve the bank’s design system and practices.
- Put the user at the centre of everything, championing their interests.
- Rapidly sketch and prototype ideas and design finer interaction details.
- Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, including Consumer Duty.
Technical Capabilities
- Familiar with current design philosophies such as Lean UX, Design Sprint, and Design Thinking.
- Strong communicator capable of facilitating workshops and brainstorming initial design concepts.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Interface and interaction design.
- Prototyping and wireframing.
- Navigation and architecture.
- Knowledge of IA solutions.
- Knowledge in design software such as Figma.
- Effective communication at all organisational levels.
- A current portfolio demonstrating strong online design understanding.
- BA in Graphic Design or related field.
- Keenness to learn and develop.
- Interest in new technologies.
- Attention to detail.
- Commercial and editorial awareness.
- Passion for design, research, content, architecture, usability and accessibility.
