Job description

Because the internet is now the heartbeat of our homes and an essential tool for business, it should run without interruption or stress. IQ Fiber was created to offer 100% fiber-optic high-speed internet, transparent pricing, and attentive customer service to deliver a Smarter internet experience. As part of our rapidly growing team, your contributions will directly impact our success. Your work matters here., IQ Fiber is seeking a Manager, GIS responsible for the company’s geospatial systems and the data within them-ArcGIS, the fiber network records platform, and the parcel and address data that drives design, construction, and serviceability across our fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) expansion markets. This role is the authority on what the company’s geospatial data means: which field is trustworthy, where it came from, what it should say, and what it takes to keep it correct as new markets come online. This is a working manager role that blends daily hands-on work in the tools with leadership of a small team of GIS and OSP analysts. As the geospatial data owner within IQ Fiber’s master data management (MDM) program, the Manager, GIS defines what the geospatial systems are authoritative for and how their fields map into governed golden records-providing the authoritative geospatial input on authority and identity rules, while the Manager, Enterprise Data Management owns the final cross-system decision and arbitration path when sources conflict., Own ArcGIS (Pro, Enterprise/Server, Online) as the system of record for the company’s geospatial data, including data models, feature services, layers, symbology, and the published map products other teams depend on. Own the fiber network records and design platform, including data structure, plan hygiene, designer workflows, and coordination with Engineering and Construction on what gets recorded and when. Administer both platforms end to end, including users, permissions, licensing, configuration, upgrades, and vendor escalation. Design and maintain ETL workflows and enterprise geodatabases that ingest, validate, and standardize spatial data, using ArcGIS Notebooks, Arcade scripting, Python, and FME where appropriate. Establish and enforce geospatial data standards-QA/QC plans, metadata, version control, naming, attribution, topology, and completeness rules across all spatial datasets-and run the audits that catch data problems before downstream teams do, driving remediation of what they surface. Reconcile geospatial data against county parcel sources, addressing authorities, and field reality, and resolve the disagreements among them. Serve as the geospatial data owner in the MDM program, confirming what each geospatial system is authoritative for-attribute by attribute-and partnering with the Manager, Enterprise Data Management and the data stewards to map source fields to golden parcel and service address attributes. Provide the geospatial position on which system should win when sources disagree, and on the identity rules that determine when an incoming record is new versus a match to an existing one. Validate golden records after they are generated, work the steward review queues for geospatial data (match review, conflict resolution, and field corrections), and confirm that governed changes written back into the geospatial systems land correctly. Lead and develop a team of one to three GIS and OSP analysts, setting standards, reviewing work, growing technical capability, and scaling the function to support multi-market growth. Produce the maps, dashboards, spatial analysis, and data exports that Engineering, Construction, Commercial, Network Operations, Finance, and Support rely on, and support market feasibility, serviceability, and design work-including passings and coverage reporting-translated into answers non-technical stakeholders can act on. Partner with Engineering and Construction so that as-built reality makes it back into the records reliably and on a known cadence., The company’s geospatial platforms are well-run and trusted, with clear ownership, current data, and no ambiguity about which system holds what. Parcel, address, and network records are accurate and complete across every market-including markets added through acquisition-and stay that way as the footprint grows. Geospatial data quality is measured on a known cadence, with issues remediated at the source, and the geospatial systems are fully and correctly represented in the company’s golden records. A GIS team is developed and performing, with standards documented well enough that quality is consistent across the team. Engineering, Construction, Commercial, and Network Operations reliably receive the spatial products they need to do their work. Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice. IQ Fiber is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
