Azure PaaS Technical Architect

Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

We’re partnering with a major UK organisation operating at national scale to find a skilled Azure PaaS Technical Architect to help modernise critical digital services across scheduling, delivery and customer engagement platforms. This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver cloud-native, enterprise-grade solutions using Microsoft Azure PaaS technologies, working on complex systems that support millions of users across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Designing end-to-end Azure PaaS architectures for application migration and modernisation.
• Assessing legacy/on-premise environments and defining cloud migration strategies.
• Translating business and technical requirements into robust solution designs.
• Implementing Azure services including App Services, Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Service Bus and related components.
• Working closely with development and DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensuring best practices across security, scalability, performance and cost optimisation.
• Providing technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to delivery teams.

About You

• Proven experience delivering Azure cloud migration and modernisation projects.
• Strong background in .NET Core, Angular and SQL.
• Deep understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management and Azure SQL.
• Experience designing microservices and API-led architectures.
• Solid knowledge of Azure networking, identity, monitoring and security.
• Experience using Azure Migrate and related tooling.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (ARM, Bicep or similar).
• Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-305, AZ-104).
• Experience with Azure DevOps and automated deployment pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Azure security best practices, including IAM and RBAC.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
