Job description
- Engineering Specialist II responsible for hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and engineering-related services.
- Supports engineering systems, workstations, storage devices, and technical equipment.
- Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, storage, and file system issues.
- Works in a fast-paced environment supporting engineering and business operations.
- Requires strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, communication, customer service, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively., * Provide hands-on technical support for engineering systems, workstations, storage devices, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, storage, and file system issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows, Mac OS, and Linux systems.
- Perform system imaging, software deployments, upgrades, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot file systems, storage configurations, and RAID environments.
- Document technical issues, troubleshooting steps, solutions, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
- Follow established processes and procedures while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Provide technical assistance and customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain equipment inventory and ensure proper handling of technical assets.
- Support engineering labs, testing environments, and technical operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and system performance analysis.
- Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides and technical documentation.
- Follow all safety, security, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in IT, engineering, or a related technical environment.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, and Linux operating systems.

Basic understanding of file systems:
- FAT
- NTFS
- HFS+
- APFS
- EXT
- Basic understanding of RAID technologies, including RAID 0 and RAID 1.
- Familiarity with storage systems and data management concepts.
- Knowledge of hardware diagnostics and system performance analysis.
- Experience documenting technical procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good adaptability and time-management skills.
- Strong initiative and accountability.
- Customer-focused approach.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CISSP, Microsoft 365, CEH, CHFI, or AWS are preferred.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
- Ability to bend, reach, and handle technical equipment.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
