A leading financial services organisation is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join a global commodities team to maintain, support and enhance its core IT infrastructure. This role plays a central part in ensuring high availability, security and performance across cloud, on-premises and end-user environments. The position involves daily collaboration with internal stakeholders, supporting hybrid cloud technologies, administering Linux and Windows systems, and ensuring compliance with market data and regulatory requirements. It offers broad technical exposure and the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure strategy and ongoing modernisation initiatives.

The Infrastructure Engineer Role:

The Infrastructure Engineer will take ownership of core infrastructure services across Linux, Azure and traditional Windows environments. They will administer and support Windows 10/11, Office 365, Active Directory and mobile device management, while ensuring end users have secure and reliable access to the tools they need. In this role, they will manage server environments, troubleshoot hardware, support SQL Server, and assist with network and firewall configuration. They’ll maintain monitoring tools to ensure proactive detection of system issues, manage licensing for market data access, and collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve complex problems.

The role also includes deploying and managing Linux servers, overseeing Azure infrastructure services, and supporting hybrid cloud strategies. This position suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, managing diverse technologies and playing a key role in infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations and new deployments.   • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Office 365 (Exchange Online, Intune, Teams)
  • Ability to manage SharePoint, mobile device management and system permissions
  • Financial or Professional Services background preferred
  • Experience supporting regulatory or market data compliance
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud or cloud migration projects
  • Comfortable collaborating with third-party vendors and service providers
