Infrastructure Engineer - Manchester

A leading technology services organisation is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join its growing managed services team. You’ll play a key role in monitoring, incident management, backup validation, patching support, and infrastructure administration across both Azure and on-premise platforms. The Role

• Monitor and manage infrastructure alerts across cloud and on-premise environments
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents
• Manage ticket lifecycles through ITSM processes and SLA targets
• Perform daily backup validation and support remediation activities
• Support monthly patching activities across Windows, Linux, Azure, and VMware estates
• Assist with Azure and VMware virtual machine administration and troubleshooting
• Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing
• Participate in a shared on-call rota providing first-response support for critical incidents, * A genuine career progression opportunity into senior infrastructure and cloud engineering roles

• Good experience in infrastructure support, ideally within a managed services environment
• Experience using monitoring tools and ITSM platforms
• Good Windows Server administration and troubleshooting skills
• Exposure to VMware vSphere and Microsoft Azure environments
• Understanding of backup technologies and operational support processes
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices
