Job description

You’ll work on modern Java applications and microservices, collaborating with cloud, infrastructure and testing teams to build robust solutions in an Agile environment. The Role

  • Develop modular, maintainable services using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot.
  • Build and integrate enterprise applications using WebLogic Server and CAS SDK.
  • Develop and support microservices and end-to-end integrations.
  • Deploy secure, scalable solutions into public cloud environments such as AWS, using containers.
  • Apply strong engineering practices including TDD, CI/CD, automated testing and coding standards.
  • Work closely with technical leads, infrastructure teams and test automation engineers.
  • Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives., If you’re a Java Developer with strong Spring Boot and microservices experience and are looking for your next opportunity in Newcastle, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial Java development experience.
  • Java JDK 11+ and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing microservices.
  • Enterprise middleware experience, ideally WebLogic Server and CAS SDK.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong understanding of secure, scalable software development.

Desirable

  • AWS/public cloud experience.
  • CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or SonarQube.
  • TDD/BDD experience.
  • Containerisation experience.
  • Experience working within fast-paced, collaborative engineering teams.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the work, you’ll need to be willing to undergo Security Clearance.

This requires 5+ years of continuous UK residence.
