Role Overview

We’re looking for a Solutions Architect to join our Architecture & Digital Design team. Reporting to the Head of Architecture & Digital Design, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering technically sound, scalable, and innovative solutions that align with business needs and drive transformation across the Steam business. This is a full-time role based in Cheltenham, with flexibility for the successful candidate to be based within our EMEA region and occasional overseas travel (<10%).

Your Objectives And Responsibilities Will Focus On…

  • Providing technical leadership and vision throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Leading solution design workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Translating business and technical requirements into viable, scalable solutions.
  • Collaborating with implementation partners and internal teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Supporting pre-project scoping, business case creation, and roadmap planning.
  • Driving application portfolio management and identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Ensuring adherence to architecture governance processes and maintaining the Definitive Software List (DSL).
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of architecture practices and technology evaluation.

Your Previous Experience Is Likely To Include….

  • Demonstrable experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
  • Proven and recent experience with Azure, ideally including AI/ML and big data solutions.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365, COTS and SaaS implementations for global user bases.
  • Strong background in software design and development across various platforms.
  • Working with global teams across time zones and managing diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Navigating complex organisational structures and understanding solution interdependencies.

To be successful in this role you will…

  • Demonstrate Company Core Values at all times
  • Be proficient/fluent in English speaking, reading and writing
  • Hold a degree, or be qualified by experience, in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Be certified in Microsoft Azure Solution Architecture or similar (AWS, CISSP, CTA).
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and quick to learn new platforms and technologies.
  • Thrive in collaborative environments and build consensus across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Be goal-driven, results-oriented, and ideally Archimate certified.
