AWS Cloud Engineer

A specialist UK consultancy operating in the national security and geospatial intelligence space is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions. This role sits at the centre of high-impact programmes, combining modern AWS capability with mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Translating client requirements into secure, scalable AWS-based solutions
• Leading the design and delivery of end-to-end cloud architectures across complex environments
• Building and integrating modern cloud-native solutions using AWS services and supporting technologies
• Working across event-driven architectures, microservices, and containerised environments
• Collaborating with technical teams, delivery leads, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
• Supporting solution governance, technical assurance, and compliance with strict security standards
• Contributing to reusable frameworks, internal capability, and innovation demonstrators
• Supporting pre-sales activities including solution shaping, proposals, and client engagement

Main Skills Needed

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud architecture and services
• Proven ability to design and deliver cloud solutions in complex environments
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of integrating cloud-native and legacy systems
• Experience working with both AWS and Azure environments is beneficial
• Strong requirements analysis and solution design capability
• Exposure to pre-sales, technical presentations, or client-facing solution design
• Active DV security clearance (essential)
