Cloud Computing Django Web Framework Backend Front End Software Development Software Coding

Job description

London Hybrid (3 days in office) Competitive Salary + Equity

I’m working with a fast-growing ClimateTech company that is transforming the way the UK approaches home heating, building technology that helps accelerate the transition towards a lower-carbon future. Their mission is to simplify a traditionally complex industry and empower installers and homeowners with better tools and technology.

They’re now looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join their product and engineering team, a hands-on senior engineer who can take ownership of meaningful product areas, run with features end-to-end, and help shape the future of a mission-driven platform.

The Role

This is a genuinely hands-on, coding-first role for an experienced engineer who wants to own meaningful product areas from discovery through to production and iteration. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, run with features independently and help shape the technical direction of the platform through high-quality engineering, not people management.

Working across the frontend, backend and infrastructure, you’ll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to solve real user problems, ship production-ready software and support the continued growth of the platform.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Owning features and product areas end-to-end, from discovery and technical decisions through to delivery and iteration
  • Building, maintaining and improving production-ready frontend and backend systems
  • Working hands-on across the stack, with a strong focus on writing high-quality, scalable code
  • Taking ownership of technical challenges and driving solutions independently
  • Collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to solve real user problems
  • Making pragmatic engineering decisions, knowing when to improve, refactor, or ship
  • Contributing to technical direction and helping raise the quality of engineering practices through example
  • Supporting the scalability, reliability and continued growth of the platform as the company evolves

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a software engineer with strong full stack development experience
  • Strong hands-on coding ability across frontend and backend systems
  • Experience building and maintaining production software at scale
  • Previous startup or scale-up experience (essential)
  • Someone who can take ownership of features, run independently, and drive things forward without needing heavy direction
  • A pragmatic engineer who understands when to refactor, when to optimise, and when to ship
  • Experience mentoring other developers and helping raise engineering standards through example
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Django
  • Cloud/infrastructure experience, ideally GCP
  • Experience working within ClimateTech, Energy, Utilities, ConstructionTech or related industries
  • Experience working in product-led engineering teams

This would suit someone who wants to be a senior technical contributor in a mission-driven company, owning meaningful problems, working closely with product, and seeing the direct impact of the software they create.

Working Pattern:
