Job description
- Lead the project lifecycle from planning and design through testing, implementation, and closure.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and changes using RAID logs and established PMO processes.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure successful project delivery.
- Track project progress and provide regular status reports, metrics, presentations, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Facilitate requirements discussions and collaborate with Application, Data Warehouse, Informatics, Networking, Security, and Service Management teams.
- Coordinate system testing, training, implementation activities, and stakeholder readiness.
- Support organizational change management (OCM) and communication activities.
- Ensure project deliverables meet defined business, technical, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Identify potential issues proactively and develop mitigation strategies through resolution.
- Maintain project documentation using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- Follow established HHS/DC IT PMO standards, methodologies, and procedures.
- Mentor junior project management staff when required.
Requirements
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale EHR implementation supporting State Health Centers and clinical teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in EHR/EMR, Health IT, Health Informatics, and Organizational Change Management (OCM), along with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex enterprise IT projects., * 7-9 years of relevant Project Management experience.
- PMP certification with a minimum of 5 years of PMP-certified experience.
- Proven experience leading large-scale IT implementations.
- Hands-on experience implementing an EHR/EMR system for an organization transitioning from paper-based charting.
- Strong experience with EHR/EMR, Health IT, or Health Informatics.
- Experience with Organizational Change Management (OCM) preferred.
- Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams and external vendors.
- Must currently reside in Pennsylvania.
- Must be able to work from the Harrisburg office 2 days per week as requested.
- Willingness to participate in occasional off-site meetings at State Health Centers when required.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience supporting healthcare, public health, government, or enterprise EHR implementations are highly preferred.
