Job description

We are seeking a Systems Programmer Analyst to support business-critical applications through systems analysis, data analysis, requirements gathering, and technical documentation. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are translated into effective system solutions while supporting application enhancements, troubleshooting efforts, modernization initiatives, and ongoing production support., * Analyze business processes, system requirements, and user needs, translating findings into detailed functional and technical specifications.

  • Perform comprehensive systems analysis across applications, databases, interfaces, batch processes, reports, and operational workflows to support enhancements, issue resolution, system conversions, and production support activities.
  • Develop, execute, validate, and optimize complex SQL queries and scripts to investigate data issues, perform reconciliations, verify business rules, and support system validation efforts.
  • Evaluate data models, database structures, source-to-target mappings, and application logic to support reporting, integrations, batch processing, and modernization projects.
  • Create and maintain technical and functional documentation, including business requirements, process flows, data mappings, test plans, test results, implementation guides, and support materials.
  • Collaborate with business users, software developers, database administrators, QA teams, architects, and project stakeholders to gather requirements, assess solutions, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support software development and testing efforts by validating business logic, reviewing program outputs, creating test scenarios and test data, documenting defects, and assisting with scripting or development activities as needed.
  • Participate in production support, deployment planning, post-implementation validation, and issue resolution while effectively communicating risks, findings, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience within an Information Technology organization performing systems analysis, requirements gathering, application support, data analysis, SQL development, application development, or related technical functions.
  • Strong experience as a Systems Analyst, including requirements elicitation, business process analysis, technical documentation, stakeholder management, testing coordination, and implementation support.
  • Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated experience writing, modifying, debugging, optimizing, and validating complex queries and scripts for troubleshooting, reporting, reconciliation, and system verification.
  • Experience working with relational databases, data models, stored procedures, source-to-target mappings, data quality analysis, and application or batch-processing logic.
  • Experience supporting application development, system enhancements, migrations, conversions, or modernization initiatives in partnership with development teams.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, facilitation, documentation, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Programming and scripting experience in technologies such as Java, Spring Framework, batch processing environments, report development tools, stored procedures, mainframe systems, or other legacy platforms.
  • Experience supporting legacy-to-modern platform migrations, including parallel testing, cutover planning, and system validation.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated validation, reconciliation, or parity-testing processes that reduce reliance on manual comparison efforts.
  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments with cross-functional teams and large-scale technology initiatives.
