Technical Lead

We are seeking a Technical Lead – Development to provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple Agile development teams within a healthcare technology organization.

This is not an architecture-only or management position. The ideal candidate will spend approximately 60% of their time hands-on coding while also providing technical direction, mentoring, code reviews, architectural guidance, and support across multiple teams and initiatives.

The immediate priority is improving DevOps and GCP cloud maturity, modernizing existing services, and helping the organization take greater advantage of its cloud environment. What You’ll Do

• Provide technical leadership across multiple Agile development teams and initiatives.
• Remain approximately 60% hands-on with software development, primarily using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead modernization efforts for existing services and applications within GCP.
• Provide technical direction for cloud-native development and engineering practices.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and engineering standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Evaluate existing applications and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization.
• Participate in architecture and design decisions while remaining hands-on with implementation.
• Conduct code reviews and establish development best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and help drive root-cause resolution.
• Remove technical blockers for development teams.
• Mentor engineers and help develop technical capabilities across the organization.
• Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and Project leadership.
• Provide technical recommendations that support long-term scalability and business objectives.
• Help identify opportunities to leverage AI/agents for DevOps and AIOps use cases.

• Strong professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Experience with cloud messaging/services such as Google Pub/Sub.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based application development and modernization.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Ability to remain hands-on with development while providing technical leadership.
• Experience leading or influencing technical direction across multiple development teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full-stack development experience, particularly Angular.
• Experience with healthcare technology or healthcare IT environments.
• Experience integrating with Epic or other healthcare platforms.
• Experience with Twilio.
• Experience with Ionic Capacitor or mobile applications built from Angular.
• Experience with additional GCP services such as:
• Cloud Memorystore
• Cloud Armor
• GCP data/storage services
• Experience with Microsoft Azure/AWS in addition to GCP.
• Experience with large-scale application or cloud migrations.
• Experience applying AI or agent technologies to DevOps/AIOps.
• Experience establishing engineering standards and best practices across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can move between writing code, solving complex technical problems, mentoring engineers, making architectural recommendations, and helping multiple teams move toward a common technical direction.
